Key responsibilities & impact- Support formulation of new products, mission areas, and programs
- Translate emerging customer needs and market opportunities into technical concepts
- Contribute to capture and proposal activities, including technical approaches, proposal content, and color team reviews
- Develop mission architectures, concepts of operations, and end-to-end system designs for novel space applications
- Decompose mission objectives into verifiable system and subsystem requirements and maintain traceability
- Drive complex trade studies optimizing system performance, cost, and schedule
- Present trade-study findings to leadership for critical decisions
- Define, manage, and control system interfaces
- Lead interface control working groups across vehicle and ground segments

Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline
- 8+ years of progressive experience in systems engineering, mission design, or complex system development
- Ability to lead technical projects and operate with a high degree of autonomy
- Deep understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle and best practices, from requirements definition through integration and test
- Experience leading trade studies, performing analysis, and architecting complex systems
- Experience supporting capture and proposal efforts for new business opportunities
- Proficiency with scripting and analysis using Python or MATLAB
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as Cameo/SysML
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to influence and guide multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. security clearance; active TS clearance highly preferred
- U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted U.S. refugee or asylee
- Preferred: Master of Science degree or higher in a relevant engineering or technical discipline
- Preferred: 12+ years of experience in aerospace or defense
- Preferred: Experience leading space-system design and development through a major program lifecycle phase
- Preferred: Technical or capture lead experience on national security or civil space proposals
- Preferred: Mission-concept formulation and customer-engagement experience
- Preferred: Expertise in orbital mechanics, mission design, and spacecraft subsystem performance analysis
- Preferred: Proficiency with requirements management and verification tools such as DOORS Next Generation
- Preferred: Experience leading or managing an Integrated Product Team
- Preferred: Hands-on aerospace hardware and software integration, test, or operations experience
