Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical requirements and engineering standards for enhancements, new projects, and initiatives
- Participate as a User Acceptance Testing (UAT) engineer
- Develop and implement technical solutions within the Mueller Design System (MBS)
- Analyze engineering workflows to identify automation opportunities and improve user experience and software efficiency
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to convert engineering requirements into software functionalities
- Participate in cross-functional project teams integrating software solutions with enterprise systems and tools
- Act as liaison between end-users and developers
- Coordinate with Technical Services, IT, Design, Drafting, and Manufacturing
- Design, execute, and document testing procedures for new features, bug fixes, and system updates
- Record test cases, results, and identified issues
- Maintain documentation of software design decisions, codebase structure, and change history
- Provide technical insight and feedback on proposed engineering changes and system developments
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in civil/Structural Engineering preferred
- 2 plus years of building design experience or related field
- Prior experience with any metal building software and Tech Requirement development is a plus
- 5+ years in engineering software development and systems engineering, with at least 1 year in a senior or lead role
- Industry experience in metal buildings or construction is a plus
- Proficiency in C# and C++
- Knowledge of software architecture, design principles, and the software development lifecycle, including modernization of legacy systems and platform migrations
- Database expertise, including integration with SQL Server and Microsoft Access
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks
- Experience debugging, testing, and maintaining legacy systems
- Ability to design and implement automated workflows and rule-based systems for engineering calculations
- Ability to balance multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Experience working in cross-functional and distributed teams
- Experience in technical documentation, requirements gathering, system diagramming, and code review
- Eagerness to learn and adopt emerging technologies in engineering software
- Ability to represent software interests in task forces, project reviews, and engineering councils
- Must be at least 18 years of age to apply
