Key responsibilities & impact- Install, test, and evaluate on-premises and remote systems and processes to improve customer field activities
- Build and configure computer-based data collection systems by integrating and installing assemblies, sub-assemblies, and software at local and remote locations
- Set up and configure lighting, power, and other infrastructure in laboratory and field-test environments
- Execute test and evaluation plans for new-generation hardware and software components and systems
- Generate technical reports documenting findings
- Develop and execute checklists to monitor laboratory and field infrastructure, ensure reliable operation, and detect and repair malfunctions
- Generate technical documents, drawings, and operator/maintenance procedures
- Provide technical support services, including routine systems maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair
- Design, build, and execute test cases to gather and analyze data for qualitative and quantitative customer recommendations
- Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and subject matter experts
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline and 2+ years of related hands-on experience, a relevant MS, or equivalent military/field experience
- Candidate must be a US Citizen and able to obtain DHS Suitability Public Trust
- Able to lift 50lbs and safely use step ladders
- Understanding of basic computer assembly and setup, software installation, configuration, and maintenance
- Knowledge of hardware and software platform integration, including computers, cameras, sensors, and networking protocols for local and edge systems connectivity and security best practices
- Experience installing and configuring computer-based systems in edge environments, including mounting, powering, and communications cabling required for end-to-end operation
- Proficiency in the proper and safe use of basic hand and power tools
- Understanding of basic electricity and electronics principles and practices
- Able to generate technical documentation, drawings, operator/maintenance procedures, test plans, and hardware and software recommendations
- Knowledgeable in the proper use of handheld test equipment such as DMMs
- Strong writing skills and ability to clearly explain and document technical plans, findings, and recommendations
- Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with team members as well as interact with customers
- Able to iterate and adapt system requirements and designs to changing needs and priorities
- Desired: Computer operating system installation, configuration and troubleshooting in Windows and Linux (x64/ARM) environments
- Desired: Proficiency with electronic test equipment for signal measurement and diagnostics
- Desired: Developing and executing power, data, and network wiring plans
- Desired: Hands-on scripting/coding/CLI skills in Ansible, Python, Perl, R, Ruby, Java, or .NET
