About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct business process analyses, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefit analyses
- Prepare functional, system, and program specifications
- Provide management support in reviewing internal and external reports and data
- Evaluate activities, performance, and systems for standards and workflow simplification
- Compile data and prepare reports and presentations for management
- Review system enhancements and upgrades for customer file modification requirements
- Facilitate timely and accurate reference-file updates based on customer requests
- Coordinate testing and debugging of new or modified software
- Create test matrices and supporting documentation
- Develop and execute formal test plans for software applications
- Monitor software implementations and verify desired operational effects
- Identify, document, research, and help resolve system problems
- Define business requirements, test corrections, and lead small to moderate projects
- Assist management with business reviews by analyzing projects and changes
- Recommend improvements to productivity, cost effectiveness, and timeliness
- Document workflow procedures with management and departmental personnel
- Prepare communications, reports, and analyses about business changes and testing results
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree OR 2 years job related work experience
- 2 years of job related business systems analysis, research and/or customer support experience
- Working knowledge of business support and systems concepts
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences
- Good teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Good analytical and conceptual skills
- Fundamental understanding of user acceptance test plans and test matrices, project plans, and scope and design documents
- Working knowledge of how projects and implementations affect an organization and ability to link them to business processes
- Working knowledge of mainframe electronic data processing system change methodology
- Microsoft Office
- Proficiency with BCBSSC/subsidiary systems preferred
- Knowledge of programming languages and/or concepts preferred
- Easytrieve, DB2, or related preferred
