Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and elevate native iOS engineering practices across the domain
  • Act as a technical lead within the Digital squad
  • Shape native mobile architecture and uplift engineering standards
  • Drive world-class customer experiences within Commbank Mobile and NetBank
  • Champion modern iOS development using Swift and SwiftUI
  • Promote excellence across accessibility, performance, security and reliability
  • Implement and advocate Apple Human Interface Guidelines and platform best practices
  • Mentor and guide engineers in writing clean, maintainable and well-tested Swift code
  • Make architectural decisions and translate them into pragmatic, production-ready solutions
  • Collaborate with backend, AI and platform teams to integrate Python-based Agentic LLM services into secure mobile experiences
  • Partner with Product Owners and stakeholders to shape technical roadmaps and innovation initiatives
  • Contribute to DevSecOps practices and operational excellence across CI/CD and cloud environments

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Extensive experience building native iOS applications using Swift
  • Strong proficiency in SwiftUI and UIKit
  • Deep understanding of iOS architecture patterns, including MVVM, Clean Architecture and modularisation
  • Knowledge of concurrency, including async/await, Combine and structured concurrency
  • Experience with performance optimisation and memory management
  • Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design
  • Knowledge of secure mobile development practices
  • Experience monitoring app health, crash analytics and observability tools, including AppD, Firebase, AppDynamics, Observe and Obstack
  • Experience building feature-based, modular mobile architectures
  • Strong knowledge of Apple Human Interface Guidelines and platform conventions
  • CI/CD experience with Artifactory, GitHub and GitHub Actions
  • Familiarity with public cloud environments; AWS preferred
  • Experience with REST/GraphQL APIs and backend integrations
  • Exposure to Next.js, TypeScript, React and .NET environments is nice to have
  • Technical leadership, architectural guidance, full-cycle engineering capability, code quality and knowledge sharing
