Key responsibilities & impact- Design, build and operate production services and APIs with clear contracts and integration boundaries
- Contribute to architecture and design decisions, including refactoring, modularisation and performance improvements
- Consolidate capabilities onto shared platforms and retire legacy technology
- Build and maintain continuous integration and delivery pipelines, automated testing and progressive delivery practices
- Establish reliability and observability through dashboards, alerting, service-level objectives and operational ownership
- Engineer secure and dependable AI and agentic features, including orchestration, evaluation and guardrails
- Embed security, privacy, reliability and regulatory controls into design and delivery

- Work across services, APIs, data integrations and interfaces supporting financial-crime detection and investigation teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong computer science foundations, including algorithms, data structures, concurrency and system design
- Experience across backend services, APIs and data integration
- Ability to design and build services using a modern typed language such as Java, Kotlin, Go or Python, or comparable technologies
- Full-stack capability, including React and TypeScript or equivalent technologies, and backend-for-frontend layers
- Understanding of cloud-native delivery, containers, automated pipelines and production observability
- Ability to reuse proven capabilities, reduce duplication and simplify technology estates
- Ability to build security, privacy, reliability and risk controls into solutions from the outset
- Willingness to learn new languages, frameworks and tools according to problem needs
- Experience with collaboration, mentoring, code review and well-reasoned design decisions
- Exposure to AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, GitHub Actions, Argo CD, React, TypeScript, Kafka, Grafana or Prometheus
- Experience building or operating AI-enabled systems, including model integration, orchestration, evaluation and guardrails, is valuable
- Equivalent tools and transferable experience welcomed
