About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify and manage project goals, scope, deliverables, budget, staffing, and schedule
- Establish project expectations, procedures, and standards, including health and safety and code compliance
- Plan, organize, and manage project staff
- Foster teamwork among internal staff, customers, vendors, and subcontractors
- Provide take-offs for estimating jobs
- Complete daily reports, project logs, and change orders
- Document and submit weekly reports on project activities, progress, and budget activity
- Provide weekly updates to coordinate with other departments
- Resolve or escalate contractual issues
- Create SOVs and oversee payments against material deliveries and installation progress
- Manage job-closing documentation and holdback releases
- Conduct project post-mortems and recommend improvements
- Work in typical construction environments and use required PPE
Requirements
What you’ll need- Advanced knowledge of commercial construction practices, relevant rules, building codes, quality standards, and tools
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal workplace compliance regulations, ordinances, and legislation, including OSHA
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, field drawings, and plans
- Ability to negotiate, solve problems, and resolve conflicts constructively
- Ability to manage project budgets and exercise cost control
- Effective professional verbal and written communication
- Ability to complete work accurately and on time
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Valid current driver’s license required for Company driving
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Frequent travel required; must live in the GTA area
- Ability to reach, bend, kneel, and crouch occasionally
- Ability to safely lift 40 pounds
- 2–5 years of experience as a Project Manager required
