Key responsibilities & impact- Build reliable pipelines and dbt models reconciling transactions across internal ledgers, operational systems, banking partners, ACH networks, and payment processors
- Develop matching and anomaly-detection logic for timing differences, partial matches, delayed transactions, and reconciliation breaks
- Improve exception handling by surfacing unmatched or anomalous records with investigation context
- Own reconciliation data definitions, documentation, lineage, testing, and quality standards
- Automate manual reconciliation workflows through scalable data products, alerting, and self-serve tools
- Explore practical applications of AI and machine learning, including probabilistic matching, anomaly detection, and AI-assisted classification or triage
- Partner with Engineering, Finance, Accounting, and Operations to improve underlying systems and processes
- Help teams identify issues earlier, reduce manual work, and maintain confidence in financial data
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, financial data, or a related technical discipline
- Advanced SQL and strong experience with dbt or similar data-transformation frameworks
- Strong Python skills for data modeling, data quality, automation, or pipeline development
- Experience building and maintaining reliable data pipelines and data models at scale
- Experience independently leading ambiguous projects from problem definition through implementation
- Strong communication skills and ability to translate technical data issues for engineering and business partners
- Experience working with complex transactional or financial datasets
- Experience with reconciliation, settlements, ACH, payment rails, or financial operations is a bonus
- Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Airflow, or similar data platforms and orchestration tools is a bonus
- Experience with fuzzy or probabilistic matching, anomaly detection, or entity resolution is a bonus
- Practical experience applying machine learning or LLM-based tools to analytics or operational workflows is a bonus
- Fintech or broader financial-services experience is a bonus
- Must be permanently authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
