About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support long-duration BESS projects through pre-construction, final investment decision, construction, commissioning and handover to Operations
- Actively manage projects under the direction of the Project Manager
- Work with Engineering, QHSE, Procurement, Legal and Development experts
- Support Project Managers during pre-construction and take management responsibility for selected work packages
- Coordinate and support the internal project team leading up to FID, focusing on programme
- Support planning discharge activities and engage landowners regarding land-related obligations
- Support management of consultant performance, including Technical Advisors, Health and Safety, and Environmental consultants
- Manage, update and interpret risk registers, master project schedules, project budgets and action trackers
- Support construction-phase delivery against safety, schedule, quality and budget targets
- Promote health and safety culture across projects
- Manage construction contracts, including BESS suppliers, BoP contractors, transmission operators, grid-compliance and other work packages
- Deliver client responsibilities under employer’s requirements and construction-contract interface matrices
- Support preparation of project-management documents in line with the business reporting calendar
- Coordinate commercial-operation readiness and contract close-out
- Coordinate revenue-readiness activities with commercial operations and asset managers
- Assess construction-schedule impacts on revenue streams and Capacity Market milestone dates
- Manage construction defects close-out and final accounts with the contract manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- Engineering, construction, science, commercial or project-management background
- Ideally minimum 3 years of experience; relevant graduate schemes will also be considered
- Experience on energy infrastructure projects is a bonus
- Open, clear written and verbal communication
- Experience with Gantt charts and risk registers
- Willingness to attend site
- Curious, adaptable and continuous-learning mindset
- Problem-solving ability and ability to take quick action
- Personal integrity and willingness to learn from mistakes
- Growth mindset and humble outlook
