About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead day-to-day operations of the refrigeration department
- Ensure employee health and safety and monitor and drive improvements in OSHA incident rates
- Manage predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance to improve critical equipment availability
- Oversee the department expense budget
- Coach, mentor, and motivate refrigeration department staff
- Manage equipment related to freezers and temperature gauges
- Support the transition of new equipment and troubleshoot equipment for manufacturing
- Analyze and trend maintenance costs and prioritize improvement activities
- Conduct root cause analyses and recommend or implement corrective actions
- Perform personnel performance reviews
- Support vendor negotiations, including purchasing spare parts, equipment, and service contracts
Requirements
What you’ll need- BS/BA in Science or Engineering, or technical field required
- 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- 2+ years of maintenance management experience
- Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills to promote teamwork
- Excellent supervision skills utilizing sound judgment, evaluation and critical thinking
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of freezers and cooling systems
- Medical manufacturing and cGMP experience preferred
