Key responsibilities & impact- Contribute to creative problem-solving to drive outcomes for clients
- Provide detailed fact findings, research, and analysis on energy-related activities, particularly climate resilience and adaptation, grid modernization, and sustainability
- Work with public and private sources of downscaled climate data
- Download climate data and isolate it to client assets using methods such as nearest neighbor analysis
- Perform statistical and economic analyses in Excel, R, and Python
- Prepare workshop and meeting materials
- Attend sessions and summarize outcomes
- Prepare reports, presentations, and other documents for client deliverables
- Present assigned tasks and analyses in a way that resonates with clients
- Work effectively with colleagues and client staff as part of a project team
- Work independently as needed
- Lead project technical workstreams and manage junior-level analysts
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be either a US Permanent Resident or US Citizen
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
- Five (5+) years of relevant utilities industry or consulting experience, excluding internships/co-ops/graduate research/fellowships
- Relevant experience related to climate resilience and adaptation, grid modernization, sustainability, or similarly related areas
- Ability to lead project technical workstreams and manage junior-level analysts
- Client service orientation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience developing and delivering presentations in PowerPoint
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with data analytics
- Strong interest in business strategy, energy efficiency, and sustainability
- An inquisitive nature and desire for continuous improvement
- Tireless attention to detail
- Superior interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously, prioritize and plan work activities while meeting deadlines
- Highly developed organizational and management skills
- Ability to travel as needed
- Ability to work in a Guidehouse office or client office
- Advanced degree in a STEM field preferred as a nice-to-have
- Engineering-relevant energy industry, utility, and/or consulting experience
- Knowledge of climate and weather models and datasets
- Knowledge of geospatial visualization tools such as ArcGIS
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint
- Experience creating models in Excel and/or experience with R or other programming languages such as Python
- Excellent data visualization, insight synthesis, and data storytelling skills
