About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead mechanical and electrical system architecture definition, performance analysis and simulation, and development for advanced power systems
- Lead interface and requirements definition for power electronics control system development and testing
- Lead MBSE approaches and predictive health monitoring initiatives and develop digital engineering maturity
- Interface with customers
- Drive engineering team technical decisions and provide expertise and direction for power technology solutions
- Lead adherence to technology development processes and phase gates
- Apply robust systems engineering principles throughout the project lifecycle
- Define project scope, manage technical risk, and ensure execution meets deliverables within schedule and budget

Requirements
What you’ll need- B.S. or M.S. in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering
- 7+ years of experience designing and developing gas turbine engines, hybrid turbogenerator power systems, and electric power systems
- Experience in power generation, conversion, distribution and control design, analysis and testing, including project management
- Modeling and simulation experience using modern methods
- Strong knowledge of integration and testing for complex electric power systems
- Must be a U.S. person: U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status
- Experience applying systems engineering principles to complex systems
- Experience with MBSE approaches and digital engineering transformation initiatives
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to analyze and solve complex and ambiguous problems
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, presentation, written and oral communication skills
- Ability to positively influence others and resolve conflicts quickly and tactfully
