About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support one or more cross-functional agile squads in designing and delivering complex application solutions
Direct cross-functional elicitation and elaboration of requirements across squads
Manage backlog, backlog grooming, user story refinement, estimation, Sprint Reviews, and Agile Ceremonies with the Product Owner and teams
Coordinate activities with up to four System Analysts across squads
Assist the Product Owner with personas, customer journey maps, story maps, and release planning
Direct analysis on critical initiatives involving strategic change across platforms and products
Convert business requirements into epics and features while considering technical constraints and existing architecture
Communicate product vision, roadmap, value, and MVP to agile teams
Create and maintain Product Backlog Items, ensuring epics and user stories are prioritized and aligned with the Product Roadmap and MVP
Facilitate refinement sessions and detail user stories, including dependencies
Facilitate Sprint Reviews and incorporate customer feedback into the Product Backlog
Run POD assessment processes and provide feedback to improve Systems Analyst standards and processes
Lead workshops with data engineers, data architects, technical experts, and AI engineers to integrate AI solutions into a POD
Incorporate MMC and Mercer technical, security, and process standards throughout the software development life cycle

Requirements gathering skills, including capturing customer needs and business drivers as Epics and User Stories

Self-motivated and able to learn through research and self-training
Ability to remove squad impediments by providing timely responses and solutions
Ability to resolve work-method issues with minimal direction
Willingness to respond to emergent changes
Familiarity with AI concepts and technologies, including machine learning, natural language processing, and data analytics
Compliance with AI governance frameworks
Minimum 12 months experience as D1/D2
At least “On-Track” or equivalent rating in last appraisal
Must not be under a Performance Counselling Plan or have had official disciplinary action within the last 3 months
Ability to craft effective prompts for AI-driven applications
Ability to work within POD/cross-functional squads to develop and implement an AI strategy
Commitment to staying updated on AI trends, technologies, and best practices
Agile mindset with in-depth understanding of Agile Principles
Prior experience as an IT Systems Analyst or IT Business Analyst in an agile team
Experience using an Agile Workflow tool such as JIRA or TFS
Agile certification such as CSM, PSM, CSPO, PSPO, PMI-ACP, or Certified SAFe Practitioner is desirable
Azure AI Fundamentals is desirable
