About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform all duties and job functions of an experienced clerk
- Assign duties to the team as needed
- Train new teammates
- Process incoming products from the bakery plant and direct store delivery vendors
- Order decorated cakes from the bakery plant
- Rotate product and straighten displays
- Ensure department standards are met
- Write orders for the day and set up the timeline for the production schedule
- Provide friendly and courteous service in person and on the phone
- Receive and stock orders
- Maintain proper sanitation procedures
- Follow inventory control procedures to ensure quality production, accuracy, and product rotation
- Adhere to department and company safety guidelines
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be 21 years or older to apply
- Minimum six months of management experience
- Minimum six months of bakery experience
- Flexible availability including weekends
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions
- Must maintain strict adherence to department and company safety guidelines
- Must understand and practice proper sanitation procedures
- Must follow inventory control procedures
- Internal candidates: Store/Facility Teammates with minimum six months employment with Schnucks preferred
- Internal candidates: Store Support Center Teammates with minimum one year employment with Schnucks preferred
- Internal candidates must be in good standing, not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline
- Internal candidates invited for an interview must have manager approval based on performance
