About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver high-quality service work across low to medium complexity projects
  • Plan and execute work with a strong “first-time right” focus
  • Build trusted customer relationships and respond with urgency, professionalism and ownership
  • Provide remote technical support to customers during standby time
  • Work with customers on-site to identify opportunities to improve operations and eliminate pain points
  • Perform field service tasks and identify technical issues through remote or on-site activity
  • Analyze technical issues in service categories and products
  • Assist in preparing material lists and ensure materials, parts and equipment are available and suitable
  • Assist in preparing work packs, including risk assessments and method statements
  • Troubleshoot equipment/process failures
  • Request proactive corrective actions and recommend ways to prevent recurring issues

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Highly skilled in electrical / mechanical engineering solutions, preferably in the marine and ports industry, but not essential
  • Ability to be flexible with schedules and be self-sufficient in the field
  • Experience in field services
  • ABB product experience is desirable
  • Willingness to work in demanding environments, both in the UK and internationally, on and offshore
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in electrical engineering and/or a demonstrated professional track record
  • Ability to communicate with a wide variety of people, including colleagues and customers
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office suite including Word and Excel
  • Current driving license valid in the UK
