About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead civil engineering solutions for airport infrastructure projects through all project lifecycle stages
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated, efficient and sustainable airport infrastructure solutions
- Provide technical leadership, technical assurance and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians
- Prepare and review technical reports, calculations, specifications, drawings and design packages
- Build and maintain relationships with airport operators, clients, stakeholders and project partners
- Contribute to innovation, continuous improvement, emerging technologies and best practice
- Identify opportunities to improve project outcomes and deliver additional value
- Work on airfield pavements, taxiways, apron developments, terminal-related infrastructure, drainage, highways and landside developments
- Support feasibility, master planning, design, construction and operational handover
- Contribute to major expansion projects, airfield upgrades and long-term asset management initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Airfield and infrastructure design experience, including successful delivery of schemes from concept to detailed design
- A degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Chartered or Incorporated status with ICE or an equivalent institution OR extensive experience and the ability to become chartered within 12 months
- Knowledge of Airport or Highways pavement design, materials specification and maintenance
- Appreciation of UK and international pavement design methods
- Experience leading engineering teams in delivering high-quality design deliverables
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to build client relationships and support work-winning activities
- Ability to prepare briefs, scopes of work, and input into bid proposals
- Willingness to learn and proactive problem-solving approach
- Ability to work collaboratively within diverse project teams
- Security clearance may be required; relevant clearance must be obtained if necessary
- Security vetting may require proof of UK residency for 5 years or longer
