About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage the acquisition Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) process in support of complex systems
- Use engineering skills to transform Mission Systems requirements to improve system performance and sustainability
- Support Mission Systems in working with OEMs to improve performance and integrate advanced technologies into existing platforms
- Design and develop future technologies within the avionics discipline
- Work with existing teams to understand current challenges
- Work with OEMs to redesign, develop, and integrate upgrades to improve warfighters' competitive edge
- Augment designs and algorithms to improve system performance
- Collaborate with teams of engineers to modify designs and improve system integration
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years of experience in Naval avionics engineering or acquisition
- Experience with managing cost and schedule metrics
- Knowledge of avionics systems and systems integration challenges
- Ability to work with a team of engineers to modify designs and improve system integrations to improve warfighter capabilities
- Secret clearance required
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field
- Experience with modern Navy avionics systems
- Experience with the SETR acquisition process
- Knowledge of contracting mechanisms and Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) reporting
- Knowledge of the Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) process and test techniques
- Ability to analyze avionics designs and provide technical inputs to improve performance and integration ease
- Top Secret clearance
- Master's degree in an Engineering or Science field
