Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and develop the project engineering team within Aircraft Technical Services
- Oversee project schedules, budgets, certification performance, and quality of deliverables for Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs)
- Manage day-to-day team operations and project portfolio performance
- Monitor projects against plans and budgets weekly, monthly, and quarterly
- Support project-related decisions and escalate issues to ATS senior leadership
- Improve project completion, cross-functional communication, certification performance, and employee satisfaction
- Provide professional development, mentoring, and technical guidance
- Recruit, hire, train, and develop employees
- Adapt team objectives and priorities across concurrent programs
- Provide reporting on operating results, special projects, and team performance
- Establish and maintain ATS Project Engineering processes and standards
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities
- Ensure compliance with airline, government, and corporate regulations
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders including aircraft OEMs, MROs, regulators, airlines, and vendors
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field
- 7–10+ years of industry experience
- Strong knowledge in structural and electrical engineering disciplines
- Solid experience in project management, project planning, and budget management
- Strong project management leadership background
- Experience selecting, managing, developing, and motivating technically diverse teams
- Experience working with senior management, design teams, and internal and external customers across engineering and operations activities
- Ability to travel 5–10%, including occasional international travel
- ITAR-designated position
- Preferred: advanced degree in Engineering, Management, or related technical field
- Preferred: in-depth understanding of engineering and certification processes
- Preferred: experience with FAA and international equivalents, STC packages, FAA regulators, and ODAs
- Preferred: knowledge of wireless and SATCOM airborne equipment used on commercial aircraft
- Preferred: successful leadership of highly skilled engineering teams
- Preferred: PMP or equivalent professional certification
