About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Counsel borrowers on methods to bring loans current and explore alternative solutions
- Contact borrowers 1–59 days delinquent and negotiate payment arrangements
- Evaluate borrowers’ ability to pay and collect financial information
- Educate borrowers on repayment plans, loan modifications, short sales, Deed in Lieu of Foreclosure, and refinancing options
- Initiate and explain documents for Request for Mortgage Assistance packages
- Serve as a borrower’s single point of contact when needed
- Escalate borrowers to licensed Loss Mitigation associates for specific workout details
- Provide payment and payoff status, verify payment history and servicer information, and process payments
- Assist with loan servicing website payments, denied access, and password resets
- Respond to escrow, loss draft, and closing document inquiries
- Support inbound Customer Service on high-volume days
- Provide servicing status on payment/credit disputes, escrow refunds/shortages, loss drafts, short sales, Deed in Lieu of Foreclosure, modifications/refinances, repayment plans, and other mortgage activities
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent work experience
- Less than one (1) year collections experience in a customer service/call center environment and/or loan servicing experience
- Experience in the Banking, Mortgage/Loan Servicing industries preferred
- Must perform duties in accordance with company policies and procedures and all applicable US state and federal laws and regulations
- Bilingual English/Spanish is eligible for an additional $1.50 per hour
