About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage inbound and outbound collection calls to negotiate resolutions on delinquent accounts
- Negotiate payment arrangements and settlement agreements based on borrowers' individual financial circumstances
- Utilize skip-tracing tools and investigative techniques to locate borrowers and relevant assets
- Manage assigned account portfolios and prioritize collection activities to maximize recovery opportunities
- Work toward individual and departmental performance goals
- Maintain accurate and detailed account documentation
- Deliver professional, respectful customer interactions while navigating difficult conversations
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local collection laws, company policies, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain consistent communication with management and team members while working remotely
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 2 years of third-party debt collection experience
- Strong negotiation, persuasion, and conflict-resolution skills
- Proven ability to manage collection accounts and negotiate successful payment arrangements
- Excellent verbal communication, active listening, and telephone etiquette
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently while contributing to team goals
- Professionalism, reliability, accountability, and a positive attitude
- Working knowledge of applicable debt collection laws and regulations
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Professional, distraction-minimized remote workspace suitable for confidential customer conversations
- Reliable internet connectivity sufficient to perform job responsibilities
- Ability to remain available, responsive, and productive throughout scheduled working hours
- Must reside and work in an LCS-approved state
- Preferred: Experience working in a high-volume collections environment
- Preferred: Familiarity with skip-tracing tools and collection management systems
- Preferred: Experience negotiating settlements and payment arrangements
- Preferred: Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills
- Preferred: Previous experience consistently meeting or exceeding collection goals
