Key responsibilities & impact- Own technology strategy, transformation, delivery and operational performance for CVS Caremark’s prescription claims adjudication platform and ecosystem
- Ensure reliable, secure and scalable prescription claims processing across Commercial Programs, Government Services and Enterprise Strategic initiatives
- Create a North Star vision and executable roadmap aligning people, process and technology
- Lead migration toward cloud-native, microservices-based and domain-driven architecture
- Drive the transition from project to product and modernize experience layers
- Set direction for API-first strategy, governance, lifecycle management and real-time and batch integration
- Embed AI, DevSecOps, test automation and simplified architecture to improve operations
- Partner with senior leaders across Operations, Product, Client Services, Network Management, Pricing, Data and Integration Services, and Client Experience Engineering
- Manage a large multi-program investment portfolio and cost base, including business cases for innovation
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, NCPDP, CMS and other regulatory requirements
- Lead, grow and inspire a team of 500+ engineers and senior technology leaders
- Partner with technology providers and third parties and monitor industry and technology shifts
- Report to the Vice President, Adjudication and Client Experience Engineering
Requirements
What you’ll need- 15+ years of progressive experience in technology, software engineering, application delivery or platform leadership
- Leadership of large, complex organizations and enterprise portfolios with $50M+ accountability
- Success leading technology and business transformation in a large, matrixed and highly regulated environment
- Experience owning mission-critical platforms requiring availability, performance, resilience, security and operational support
- Experience with core platforms, AI, cloud technologies, service-based or microservices architectures, enterprise application integration, API strategy and lifecycle management, and system interoperability
- Strong financial and portfolio management experience, including investment prioritization, workforce planning, vendor management and delivery accountability
- Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Ability to communicate complex issues in plain language and make sound decisions under pressure
- Success leading organizational change and building high-performing leadership teams
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
- Preferred: knowledge of pharmacy benefit management, health care claims processing, benefit administration, clinical and formulary, pharmacy networks or related health care transaction ecosystems
- Preferred: experience with prescription claims adjudication platforms, high-volume real-time transaction processing and National Council for Prescription Drug Programs standards
- Preferred: experience with HIPAA and health care privacy, security and regulatory requirements
- Preferred: experience applying artificial intelligence, automation, modern software delivery and observability practices
