Key responsibilities & impact- Define the vision, roadmap, and success measures for the AI Gateway
- Balance developer adoption with enterprise requirements
- Work with developers, AI teams, platform engineers, and security stakeholders to uncover needs and validate solutions
- Improve onboarding from launching a sandbox and authenticating through connecting an agent, selecting a model, and completing the first useful task
- Partner with engineering and design on APIs, CLI tools, administration experiences, documentation, and AI coding-tool integrations
- Work with inference providers to evaluate model capabilities and plan integrations
- Prioritize model discovery and compatibility
- Translate identity, access management, credential protection, policy enforcement, and auditability requirements into usable capabilities
- Define traffic balancing, routing, and fallback strategies across inference providers
- Own inference cost-management priorities, including usage visibility, budgets, and spend optimization
- Write product requirements, make tradeoffs, and partner on positioning, onboarding, release readiness, and continuous learning
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years of product management experience
- Experience building developer tools, infrastructure, security, or platform products
- Demonstrated success taking a product from concept to launch, validating customer demand, defining initial scope, and driving adoption
- Strong technical background through software engineering experience or ownership of deeply technical products
- Ability to evaluate API designs and understand system architecture
- Hands-on experience with AI tools and agent workflows
- Strong product judgment and analytical skills
- Experience using customer research and product data to prioritize investments and measure results
- Excellent written communication and cross-functional leadership
