About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build and maintain functional documentation for the Equisoft/centralize web platform in Confluence, covering modules, workflows, business rules, and field-level specifications
- Document existing application behaviour through hands-on exploration and subject-matter-expert interviews
- Build and maintain a feature inventory mapping desktop-platform capabilities to web-platform equivalents
- Document client change requests in Jira, including solution descriptions, original requests, estimations, acceptance criteria, release notes, linked support tickets, and billable/non-billable classification
- Help enforce ticket workflow and authorization steps so work enters development complete and approved
- Define and maintain documentation standards, templates, and page structures
- Support development and QA by answering functional questions and validating delivered work against documented behaviour
- Use AI tools to accelerate documentation drafting, synthesis, and ticket writing while validating outputs for accuracy
- Work closely with the product owner and product development team; report to the Manager, Product Operations & Enablement
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering or Information Technology or other University Degree
- 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a SaaS product environment
- Demonstrated ability to document existing systems, not only new features; writing samples should be included or available
- High level of precision and structure in documentation
- Advanced use of Jira and Confluence, or equivalent tools
- Experience gathering knowledge from subject-matter experts and turning it into structured documentation
- Comfort working across two platforms at different stages of maturity (desktop and web)
- Good working knowledge of AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot) in a daily documentation workflow
- Knowledge of Life and Health insurance products and processes (asset)
- Exposure to MGA/agency management systems or the Canadian insurance distribution ecosystem (asset)
- Excellent French and English communication skills, written and spoken
- Strong organizational skills and proven ability to prioritize activities effectively
- Critical and innovative mind; ability to recommend improvements and constructively challenge themselves and team members
- Ability to communicate, write and synthesize information
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Team spirit, tact, diplomacy, autonomy, rigor and discipline
