About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead system requirements development and decomposition
- Influence architecture and design trade studies
- Own integration of complex avionics subsystems
- Lead verification and validation activities
- Drive system-level issue resolution and root cause analysis
- Mentor junior systems engineers
- Develop and define software requirements for the Anthem Next Generation Avionics project
- Work with the Integrated Systems team to design, develop, and integrate highly complex systems
- Travel up to 10% may be expected
- Report to the Senior Engineering Manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics
- 5+ years of experience in systems engineering or project leadership in Avionics, Flight Management, or Flight Guidance
- 3+ years of experience with systems integration, implementation, and troubleshooting
- 3+ years of experience with advanced systems engineering technologies
- Strong avionics and lifecycle knowledge
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
- U.S. Person status required: U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status
- MBSE experience
- Experience leading complex system integration projects
- Knowledge of software configuration and change management practices with DOORS NG and Atlassian tools
- Experience with Agile development processes
- Strong understanding of DO-178B/C, DO-254, and ARP-4754
- Verification test plan experience
- ARINC 429 and signal debug capability
- Analytical, problem-solving, and software development skills
- Familiarity with system certification requirements and documentation
- Familiarity with JIRA, Bitbucket, DOORS NG, and Confluence
- Model-based system design using Simulink preferred
- ARINC 661 graphics development using Scade preferred
