About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide expert repair and maintenance services for cleaning machinery
- Diagnose, service, and repair diverse equipment
- Complete service and repairs within agreed Service Level Agreements
- Provide quality customer support through courteous and knowledgeable communication
- Attend jobs, follow-up calls, planned maintenance services, and Portable Appliance Test calls on schedule
- Maintain high standards of machinery service and repair
- Adhere to Health and Safety rules and technician procedures
- Update jobs in real time in SERVICESMARTPro (SSP)
- Provide accurate reports after every site visit
- Order parts for breakdown calls and manage van-stock replenishment
- Help develop and implement more efficient systems of work
- Maintain vehicle condition and cleanliness
- Attend company service and business review meetings
Requirements
What you’ll need- Relevant certifications or training in industrial equipment repair and maintenance is advantageous
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence essential
- Proficiency in diagnosing, servicing, and repairing industrial cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, pressure washers, scrubbers, and sweepers
- Strong mechanical aptitude with understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in using diagnostic instruments, hand tools, and power tools
- Familiarity with safety protocols and regulatory requirements
- Previous experience in servicing and repairing industrial cleaning equipment is highly desirable
- Demonstrated experience in a field service engineering role, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Proven track record of diagnosing and resolving equipment malfunctions
- Experience with preventive maintenance practices and maintenance schedules
- Prior exposure to providing technical support and training on equipment operation and maintenance
- Strong physical condition and capability to perform manual handling duties, including lifting heavy industrial battery packs
- Proficient IT skills, including operating tablet devices
- Comprehensive experience with petrol, diesel, and LPG internal combustion engines
