About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support Treasury Operations functions involving investment portfolio transactions, collateral management, funding, liabilities, and safekeeping
- Process fixed-income securities trade settlements and related principal and income transactions
- Support debt issuances, principal and interest payments, and monitoring of the overall cash position at the Federal Reserve
- Manage collateral pledging for Key contracts, products, and public deposits
- Analyze operational support and processes and resolve highly complex problems
- Reallocate resources and ease workloads during peak volumes
- Prepare regular managerial, financial, and regulatory reports within required service levels
- Partner with the Department Manager on strategic direction, larger projects, complex issues, and research
- Facilitate training and guidance for operations staff and assist with human-resource functions as needed
- Lead continuous improvement and refine operations processes and procedures
- Learn and perform all team functions to provide backup support during absences or increased volumes
- Establish relationships with Lines of Business partners to resolve client issues and complete cross-functional initiatives
- Lead and participate in department projects
- Define, test, and implement bug fixes and smaller-scale system enhancements with technology support partners
- Conduct detailed research and present findings to management
- Review workflows, maintain procedures, and create process maps and functional responsibility lists
- Represent the department in disaster recovery planning and testing, risk management and regulatory reviews
- Provide feedback on staff performance and support department goals and objectives
- Complete required CCAP evaluations and perform other assigned duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance and/or equivalent work experience in a Financial Services Operations environment
- Treasury Operations preferred
- Aptitude to learn and understand financial concepts for a wide variety of products
- Effective communication skills to interact with External Bank Clients and Internal Line of Business Partners
- Ability to lead multiple projects and prioritize work for the team
- Ability to work with all levels of internal/external clients while protecting KeyBank’s monetary risks and confidentiality
- Attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite
- Ability to work effectively in an everchanging environment
- Ability to generate ideas beyond the status quo
- Flexibility and composure under stress
