Key responsibilities & impact- Manage fabrication projects from order release through final completion and coordinate shipments.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and monitor progress daily.
- Coordinate priorities with production, engineering, quality, customers, vendors, freight forwarders, and operations.
- Identify schedule risks and implement corrective actions to minimize delays.
- Lead daily project reviews and provide management status updates.
- Monitor milestones and ensure customer commitments are achieved.
- Track project costs and communicate potential budget impacts.
- Create, issue, and manage purchase orders for components, materials, machining, coatings, and outside processing.
- Coordinate purchasing to align material availability with production schedules.
- Monitor supplier delivery, quality, and responsiveness; expedite critical materials and services.
- Maintain purchase order status and communicate material availability to production.
- Develop supplier relationships and identify cost-saving and delivery-improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate fabrication workflow, resolve production constraints, and ensure drawings, BOMs, and work orders are complete.
- Coordinate inspection requirements and quality hold points.
- Provide procurement and project support for the Dubai fabrication facility and coordinate Odessa-Dubai sourcing activities.
- Participate in coordination meetings with the Dubai operations team as needed.
- Serve as the primary communication link among Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, Production, Quality, Customers, and Sales.
- Prepare weekly project status reports and communicate risks, schedule changes, and mitigation plans.
- Maintain accurate ERP data for purchase orders, job status, work orders, and project milestones.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, manufacturing, or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- 5+ years of experience in fabrication, manufacturing, project management, production planning, customer relations, and supply chain.
- Experience managing multiple fabrication or manufacturing projects simultaneously.
- Strong purchasing and vendor management experience.
- Experience working within an ERP/MRP system; JD Edwards experience preferred.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Project.
- Preferred: experience in oil & gas manufacturing or industrial equipment fabrication.
- Preferred: knowledge of welding, machining, fabrication, and manufacturing processes.
- Preferred: experience supporting multiple manufacturing locations.
- Preferred: APICS/CPIM, PMP, or other project management certification.
- Preferred: experience working with international suppliers or global operations.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Occasional travel to support operations, vendors, customers, and fabrication facility.
