About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide maintenance and housekeeping support, direction, and oversight at communities with vacancies
- Act as the community Maintenance Manager during a vacancy
- Sustain continuity of maintenance and housekeeping standards until a replacement is identified
- Conduct drills, preventative maintenance, room turns, and work orders
- Keep accurate records for inspections and drills
- Oversee and monitor housekeepers to maintain quality standards
- Manage the declining budget to keep communities on track and within budget
- Provide 24/7 on-call support for community emergencies
- Provide hands-on training for new Maintenance Managers
- Coordinate with the home office team during transitions between outgoing and incoming community maintenance and housekeeping team members
- Promote a positive, collaborative, and communicative work environment
- Conduct audits to ensure communities meet company standards
- Support Maintenance Managers with ongoing training
- Perform other duties within the scope of responsibility
- Travel daily to assigned communities, including overnight stays during the week
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of three years of management experience
- Three years of maintenance experience
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office in a Windows environment
- Capacity to master company-specific software
- Experience with Yardi, Teams, Smartsheet, and OneDrive is a plus
- Ability to travel daily to assigned communities, including possible overnight stays during Monday–Friday
- Ability to provide 24/7 on-call support
- Ability to stand for long periods, sit, stand, walk, and use hands to operate keyboards, telephones, and other equipment
- Ability to review detailed documents and read computer screens
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with others
