Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to cross-functional cloud, data engineering, and business teams
- Architect robust Azure-based data solutions aligned with business objectives and future growth
- Design and deploy scalable Azure Data Lake storage solutions
- Architect, configure, and manage Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB, SQL Managed Instances, and other database services
- Administer and optimize Azure Databricks environments, including clusters, notebooks, libraries, and jobs
- Integrate Azure Databricks with Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, and other Azure services
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and performance-tune Databricks workloads
- Develop and implement strategies for migrating on-premises data and applications to Azure
- Use Azure Migrate and Data Migration Assistant for cloud migrations
- Design and maintain Azure Data Factory pipelines for workflow orchestration and ETL
- Optimize data pipeline performance and data movement across hybrid cloud environments
- Design high-availability and fault-tolerant database architectures, including replication, backup, and recovery
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks while optimizing cost, scalability, and reliability
- Implement Azure security measures including encryption, RBAC, firewalls, and auditing
- Conduct security assessments and enforce cloud security best practices
- Engage business, IT, and data engineering stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver projects
- Present project updates, technical challenges, and solutions to leadership and stakeholders
- Facilitate collaborative decision-making and knowledge sharing
- Lead Infrastructure as Code solutions using ARM templates, Terraform, or Azure Bicep
- Embed IaC practices into the development lifecycle for consistent and scalable deployments
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6+ years in cloud architecture
- At least 4 years focused on Azure cloud solutions and architecture design
- Expertise in Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and related Azure data services
- Strong proficiency in Azure Data Factory (ADF) for data pipeline orchestration and ETL process design
- Databricks administration and optimization experience, including cluster management, job execution, and integration with Azure services
- Solid experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, ARM templates, or Azure Bicep
- Familiarity with Azure Databricks and other advanced data processing services
- Deep understanding of cloud security best practices, including access control, data encryption, and compliance standards
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools
- Leadership experience driving technical initiatives to completion
- Equivalent experience, skills, and/or education will also be considered
