About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and implement solutions related to customers’ supply chains
- Develop recommendations supporting customers’ strategic decisions
- Use proprietary and third-party applications to analyze transportation, distribution, logistics, inventory, and supply chain solutions
- Create and provide customized supply chain solutions for UPS customers
- Generate consulting revenues
- Strengthen customer relationships by enabling UPS to provide transportation, supply chain, and consulting services
- Manage supply chain and distribution analysis projects
- Provide subject matter expertise
- Coach team members and customer-facing counterparts
- Develop project plans based on customer feedback and assign tasks to resources
- Review documents and create work orders outlining solutions, tasks, and deliverables
- Forward project documents to stakeholders to obtain agreement on costs and resources
- Identify and work with affected groups and functions to manage project impact
- Research and evaluate industry trends and best practices
- Develop training materials for related groups
- Report on project status, field resource activity, and training initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or International equivalent in Industrial Engineering, Industrial & Systems Engineering, Operations Research, or Logistics/Supply Chain – Preferred
- Experience in database management, Supply Chain Logistics, or network modeling – Preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Experience in database development and analysis – Preferred
- Consulting experience in the Supply Chain industry – Preferred
- Experience using Service Mapping applications such as ESRI and/or GIS – Preferred
- Experience using Supply Chain Logistics modeling applications such as Logic Net Plus or I-2 Strategist – Preferred
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer
