About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support customers with on-site installation, implementation, maintenance and repair of Agilent GC and GC/MS solutions
  • Install and optimize hardware, software, network products and configurations at customer sites
  • Diagnose and resolve product performance problems
  • Perform maintenance and repairs
  • Advise customers on preventive maintenance and configurations affecting product performance
  • Proactively respond to potential equipment issues to prevent unplanned business interruptions
  • Deliver fully integrated solutions including peripherals, communications, operating systems and application software
  • Train other field engineers and customers in the solutions
  • Support customers across Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and Mississippi
  • Work at a variety of laboratories and continuously learn about new instruments, software and consumables

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A post-secondary degree within the science or Engineering field – e.g. chemistry, analytical chemistry biochemistry, biotechnology
  • 2+ years of experience in laboratory environment working with analytical instrumentation
  • Experience with troubleshooting and problem solving is essential
  • Experience with the Agilent GC or GCMS is preferred but not essential
  • Verbal and written communication is clear, respectful and timely
  • Must enjoy travel and providing customer service
  • Travel expectation is 70%
  • Must live in Florida
  • Willingness to travel extensively; travel required 75% of the time
