Key responsibilities & impact- Build and lead the engineering team across Agentic Commerce
- Manage, coach, and grow engineers working across payment pipelines, agent authentication, and web-scale commerce architecture
- Establish priorities, predictable delivery, and engineer autonomy
- Lead development of agentic payment systems using x402, Web Bot Auth, ACP, and UCP
- Lead engineering for usage metering, pricing definition engines, outcome verification, and revenue attribution
- Build capabilities providing businesses visibility and control over agent-generated revenue
- Partner with Product Management to understand customer problems, shape the roadmap, and define engineering outcomes
- Bridge mainstream and decentralized technology while focusing execution on high-throughput web and fiat commerce rails
- Balance near-term product delivery with long-term technical investments
- Own observability, incident response, cryptographic security, and system reliability
- Develop technical leaders and enable engineers to lead architecture and implementation
- May participate in on-call coverage outside standard working hours
Requirements
What you’ll need- Led and developed high-performing engineering teams
- Technically credible with experienced engineers; able to review designs and understand distributed-systems or payment-platform trade-offs
- Comfortable managing teams across digital wallets, payment protocols, and web authorization
- Strong reliability and quality focus for monetary transactions and machine authorization
- Strong product judgment and roadmap partnership experience
- Comfortable with ambiguity
- Clear communication and ability to explain complex technical decisions
- Technical grounding in distributed systems, low-latency transaction processing, API design, web security, or adjacent areas
- Experience with traditional payment rails, digital wallets, or authorization/authentication standards such as OAuth, WebAuthn, or Web Bot Auth
- Experience operating systems where correctness, reliability, and security are critical
- Track record of hiring, developing, and retaining strong engineers
- Experience partnering with Product Management to shape and execute roadmaps
- Experience taking ambiguous opportunities to clear customer outcomes
- Familiarity with emerging agentic payment protocols such as x402, AP2, ACP, and UCP
- Experience building hybrid fiat/crypto payment infrastructure
- Familiarity with Cloudflare Workers, Durable Objects, KV, or edge computing architectures
- Experience with usage-based billing, metering engines, attribution systems, or complex commercial pricing models
- May require authorization to receive technology controlled under U.S. export laws without sponsorship for an export license
