About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Negotiate, sign, and close catalog acquisition deals with artists, songwriters, and other music creators
- Partner with the A&R team to lead and execute deals while maintaining strong client relationships
- Project-manage deals end-to-end with the Head of Sourcing and Sourcing Operations
- Maintain a healthy pipeline through data-driven assessments and creative lead-generation initiatives
- Participate in decision-making with Underwriting and Legal teams
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of documentation
- Support the investment committee in internal reviews and approvals
- Develop solutions for rights-acquisition challenges and implement unique processes
- Develop and nurture relationships with artists, managers, and industry stakeholders
- Enable the A&R team to achieve targets and milestones
- Track deal points and conversations using HubSpot, Airtable, and Notion
- Monitor industry trends, competitor strategies, and emerging technologies in music fintech
- Help shape and execute Duetti’s acquisition strategy in collaboration with the Head of Sourcing and senior leadership
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2+ years of proven experience in private equity, investment banking, or another relevant finance or professional services role
- Strong analytical skills, with ability to interpret and manipulate complex and unstructured data
- Understanding of the music industry and ability to interpret and navigate complex deal structures
- Experience in opportunity and risk assessment
- Ability to make informed decisions during negotiations and diligence
- Ability to quickly interpret and synthesize legal agreements
- Proven attention to detail
- Strong work ethic and enthusiasm for an early-stage start-up environment requiring self-starters and problem solvers
- Love for music and culture and desire to be at the forefront of new business models for artists
