About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Complete daily, monthly, and ad hoc processes supporting the overall team
- Collaborate with Client Service, Legal and Compliance, IT, and management on annual testing, audits, and annual legal filings
- Answer client inquiries regarding participant and plan activity
- Work regularly with Mercer-approved vendors
- Manage daily client inquiries and ensure payrolls are processed and funded timely
- Provide operational support and efficiencies to client implementations and client service while adhering to procedures
- Identify opportunities to improve and increase efficiency
- Research and resolve inquiries and issues within designated Mercer standards
- Assist clients with reviewing communications and legal notices
- Work with clients on annual plan testing and reporting, including Form 5500
- Use Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 4 years of experience in 401(k) administration and a Bachelor degree in business, accounting or finance, OR a minimum of 7 years of experience in 401(k) administration
- Good communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel
- Previous experience with 401(k) record keeping of more than 8 years (standout qualification)
- Familiarity with Defined Contribution Plans, including plan documents, annual testing reporting and 5500/audit items (standout qualification)
- Strong organizational skills, clear and effective written and oral communication, and ability to multi-task (standout qualification)
