Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee the month-end close process maintained by the outsource provider to ensure accurate and timely close
- Partner with the outsource provider to identify and implement process improvements
- Review account reconciliations for accurate accounting in accordance with US GAAP
- Define business unit allocations for North America and partner with the outsource provider on development and execution
- Develop financial reports for monthly financial reporting and supplemental business-partner reporting
- Coordinate quarterly reviews, interim audits, and year-end audits
- Serve as an accounting partner for Oracle General Ledger decisions and directions
- Train associates on the Oracle General Ledger
- Support Oracle General Ledger reporting and special projects
- Ensure SOX controls are identified, evidenced, and documented
- Monitor and review processes and reports for financial statement accuracy and SOX compliance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a related field
- Diverse accounting experience
- Practical understanding of financial statements and accounting principles
- Good understanding of US GAAP, month-end close, audit cycle, and account reconciliations
- Retail accounting experience is a plus
- CPA and/or MBA preferred
- English language skills
- Above-average computer skills and information systems proficiency
- Excellent Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, formulas, and functions
- Ability to meet high deadline demands with accurate and timely information
- Ability to establish and strengthen relationships across organizational boundaries
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial data
- Highly detail-oriented and accurate, with strong communication skills
- Oracle experience preferred, or experience with other ERP software systems
- Integrity, analytical skills, self-motivation, persuasion and influence, time management, and team and relationship-building skills
