About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Administer a high volume weekly payroll process utilizing a computer-based system
- Collect, analyze, update, and reconcile payroll and benefit data on a weekly basis
- Serve as liaison between users, vendors, and IT to research and resolve issues
- Create and implement auditing tools to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local authorities and eliminate erroneous payments
- Contribute to SOX audit compliance
- Frequently review error logs and transactions to ensure the system is running as required
- Process payroll and related reporting for Home Depot associates in the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, and Guam
- Report to the Sr. HR Services Business Analyst
- No direct responsibility for supervising others
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be eighteen years of age or older
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job
- Minimum 3 years of work experience
- At least 3 years recent experience administering a complete high volume multi-state payroll process for a large company
- Extensive experience in gross-to-net payroll, state and federal pay rule calculations and payroll regulations
- Familiarity with Payroll System
- Strong understanding of payroll principles, practices, and standards
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Detailed oriented and strong follow up skills
- CPP is preferred
- Canada Payroll and Pay Rule processing is preferred
- Expatriate and Foreign National payroll processing is preferred
