Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and develop the centralized Business Support function within Broker-Dealer Operations
- Establish responsibilities, governance structures, service standards, and performance expectations
- Manage and develop a team of business support professionals, including an Assistant Vice President
- Build a scalable operating model aligned with Broker-Dealer Operations’ strategic objectives
- Identify opportunities to centralize activities, eliminate inefficiencies, and improve service delivery
- Establish a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
- Develop and oversee management dashboards, KPIs, KRIs, and operational performance reporting
- Coordinate governance forums, leadership reviews, and management reporting processes
- Track operational issues, action items, remediation commitments, and strategic deliverables
- Prepare executive-level reporting and presentations
- Escalate operational risks, performance concerns, and outstanding commitments
- Partner with Risk, Compliance, Audit, and Operations leadership to strengthen operational controls
- Coordinate remediation of audit findings, regulatory observations, and control deficiencies
- Support operational risk assessments, control documentation, and procedure governance
- Drive process standardization, automation, workflow improvements, and business transformation
- Coordinate operational readiness, implementation activities, organizational change, and integration of new business activities
- Establish documentation, cross-training, and knowledge-management practices
- Oversee workforce planning, resource reporting, departmental administration, organizational governance, expense monitoring, budget support, and vendor-related activities
- Build relationships across Front Office, Operations, Technology, Finance, Risk, Compliance, and other business partners
- Serve as a trusted partner to the Head of Broker-Dealer Operations and broader leadership team
- Lead, coach, and develop employees while establishing performance standards and professional development opportunities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
- 8+ years of experience in financial services, broker-dealer operations, capital markets operations, business management, or operational governance
- 3+ years of people management or demonstrated leadership experience
- 10+ years of experience within a broker-dealer, investment bank, or capital markets organization
- Strong understanding of securities operations, trade lifecycle processes, clearing and settlement, and related operational support functions
- Experience overseeing operational processes, management reporting, governance, and risk or control-related activities
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a complex, fast-paced environment
- Experience building or transforming business support, business management, or operational governance teams
- Proven ability to lead teams, establish performance expectations, and develop talent
- Experience supporting regulatory examinations, internal audits, operational risk assessments, and remediation programs
- Experience with business transformation, operating model redesign, technology modernization, or organizational integration
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, ServiceNow, or comparable reporting and workflow tools
- Strong executive communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders
- Demonstrated success driving process improvements, operational efficiencies, and control enhancements
- FINRA registrations or relevant industry certifications are a plus, as applicable
- Must work from a U.S. Bank location three or more days per week
- Must be able to comply with U.S. Bank policies and procedures, including the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct and related workplace conduct and safety policies
