About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Partner with Sales and Account Development to develop pricing strategies aligned to segment goals
- Lead pricing support for complex deals across new and existing GCS clients, using analytical and AI-assisted tools to evaluate scenarios, identify pricing opportunities, and accelerate decision-making
- Evaluate deal economics and clearly communicate trade-offs, risks, and profitability impacts
- Collaborate with GCO, Risk, Controllership, Contracts, and Operations Excellence to ensure pricing governance and execution
- Partner with Product to inform new product pricing strategies
- Support GCS transformation priorities by identifying pricing actions to improve pre-tax income and exploring opportunities to use AI and automation to improve pricing effectiveness, speed, and scalability
- Develop and continuously enhance pricing frameworks, tools, dashboards, and decision-support materials for go-to-market initiatives, incorporating predictive analytics and AI-enabled capabilities where they can improve commercial outcomes
- Partner with Finance to forecast and track P&L impacts of pricing decisions
- Monitor competitive and regulatory dynamics and assess implications for pricing strategy
- Support client engagements as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, pricing, strategy, consulting, banking, or a related analytical field
- Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience presenting insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders
- Ability to influence cross-functional partners and operate effectively in a matrixed environment
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with an interest in leveraging AI-enabled productivity and analytical tools to improve effectiveness
- Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States is required; the company will not pursue visa sponsorship
- Preferred: MBA or advanced degree
- Preferred: Experience in pricing strategy and commercial decision support
- Preferred: Experience applying AI, machine learning, advanced analytics, or automation to business problems
- Preferred: Familiarity with generative AI tools and their business applications
- Preferred: Experience partnering with Data, Product, and Technology teams to develop and implement analytical solutions
