About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Supervise labor management and daily inbound, outbound, international product slotting, and customer communication activities
- Plan labor scheduling, space utilization, equipment, and manpower
- Hire and train staff; plan and assign daily work
- Conduct performance appraisals, address performance issues, and resolve problems
- Supervise receiving, warehousing, and shipping operations under the Operations Manager or Distribution Center Manager
- Conduct staff meetings and promote continuous improvement
- Inform senior management and client representatives about critical operational issues
- Develop systems and procedures for safe, profitable operations
- Manage productivity, service goals, client KPIs, quality requirements, and cost-saving measures
- Plan daily work schedules and assign duties based on work orders, arrival notices, customer instructions, priorities, and resources
- Review warehouse trends, space organization, supply, equipment, and staffing needs
- Train warehouse staff, assess trainees, and delegate training responsibilities
- Monitor job quality and quantity, provide guidance, and assign supervisory duties to team leads
- Keep managers and warehouse staff informed of progress, problems, and developments
- Assist with physical operations as needed
- Support team motivation, customer satisfaction, growth, development, annual performance reviews, and SOP adherence
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- 3 years’ experience working in a logistics, distribution, or relevant environment
- 1 year of experience in a supervisory role
- Prior MHE certification or knowledge of basic MHE operation preferred
- Must comply with corporate and site-specific policies
- Must meet performance, safety, quality, SOP, and client operating agreement requirements
