About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and manage Process Engineers within the Engineering & Process Technology group
- Create shared vision and values, develop talent and drive team performance
- Lead programmes to enhance engineering productivity and efficiency
- Manage EHS through management of change, behavioural safety and compliance with operating standards, procedures and systems
- Align the team with business strategy and establish standards of engineering excellence
- Lead change programmes and champion implementation
- Contribute to workforce planning, capability development and succession planning
- Conduct career conversations and maintain Personal Development Plans
- Allocate resources to basic engineering and development projects
- Develop employee engagement strategy and facilitate cross-functional collaboration
- Carry out people and business processes in HR and business systems, including Workday
- Establish and maintain engineering capability across CT offices
- Maintain and enhance Engineering & Process Technology capabilities and productivity
- Lead major transformation projects to scale engineering capacity and capability
- Deputise for the Engineering Management Director as required
- Drive learning and development requirements and transition into an Engineering Academy
- Monitor training needs and develop training programmes and materials
- Recruit permanent and contingent engineering staff, review CVs, interview candidates and recommend outcomes
- Approve BEP engineering documentation, basic engineering execution strategies and engineering hour estimates
- Review and update procedures and guidance
- Improve engineering tools and methodologies
- Support Lead Engineers in project execution
- Perform other duties within skills and abilities as reasonably instructed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Understanding of technology development, engineering and licencing
- Leadership skills and ability to lead and motivate a technical team
- People development skills to support continuous learning and career development
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including explaining complex issues and technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Ability to influence key stakeholders and make effective decisions
- Ability to collaborate across functional lines
- Innovative approach to engineering execution
- Excellent planning skills, including goal setting, task breakdown, prioritisation, scheduling and resource allocation
- Organisational awareness
- Ability to build effective teams and instil trust
- Strategic thinking and direction setting
- Strong focus on continuous improvement, innovation, facilitating change and delivering change programmes
- Global mindset and experience working in a multicultural environment
- Membership of a recognised Professional Institution is desirable
