About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure superintendents have the resources required to complete projects according to approved plans, specifications, building codes and safety regulations
- Develop quality policies and procedures
- Promote safety on projects and address escalated safety issues
- Participate in senior-management safety discussions
- Lead and produce regular safety meetings
- Develop complex project schedules integrating multiple schedules and resource management
- Ensure manpower, materials, tools and resources are available for multiple disciplines
- Assist estimating with schedules, execution plans and labor requirements for large-scale pursuits
- Analyze manpower and equipment resources
- Guide project staff and managers across multiple related teams
- Set organizational priorities and allocate resources
- Lead subcontractor and supplier selection, procurement and negotiations
Requirements
What you’ll need- 15+ years of powerline construction experience in a strategic or direct management role
- Demonstrated ability to successfully lead high-performing teams
- Completed post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
- Thorough understanding of current construction practices, complex construction documents, contracts, costs and budgets
- Ability to recognize and analyze key issues and patterns in complex situations and develop solutions
- Ability to develop and foster long-term relationships with key stakeholders
- Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively
- Track record of building successful teams and promoting teamwork through motivating, coaching, and consensus-building
- Clean driver's abstract
- Experience on industrial/oil & gas or mining projects and asset
