Key responsibilities & impact- Define and adapt the product vision across the product lifecycle
- Use market and industry research to identify products customers will want
- Help oversee product design and development
- Plan how to educate customers and users on the product
- Define product communication objectives
- Provide leadership with analyses and reports and respond to leadership questions and requests
- Specify and oversee customer research to determine customer needs and desires
- Review and adjust product production schedules to maintain product availability
- Translate complex business requirements, regulatory standards, and user needs into actionable product outcomes
- Partner with finance, engineering, data, operations, design, analytics, customer service, and project delivery teams
- Deliver scalable solutions for invoicing, cash application, vendor payments, reconciliation, and reporting
- Ensure financial integrity, compliance, efficiency, and business value
- Work closely with Project Managers and Product Owners while remaining accountable for what is built and why
Requirements
What you’ll need- Demonstrated success and a proven track record of professional/life experience in specific job functions, projects, industries or military service can substitute for professional experience and/or formal education requirements
- 3-5 years of experience as a Product Manager or in a closely related product role, preferably supporting finance, accounting, or ERP-related products
- Demonstrated experience owning products within Agile or iterative delivery environments
- Proven track record of delivering successful products or enhancements with measurable business outcomes, particularly in financial operations such as A/R, A/P, billing, or reconciliation
- Experience leading product discovery, defining scope and value, and supporting funding or intake processes
- Hands-on experience with Accounts Receivable, including invoicing, collections, or cash application, and/or Accounts Payable, including vendor management, invoice processing, or payment workflows
- Technical background with knowledge of software development and web technologies
- In-depth understanding of Agile methodologies, technical understanding of products, and current knowledge of industry standards and best practices
- Familiarity with financial systems, ERP platforms, billing systems, or fintech solutions
- Ability to partner with Finance, Accounting, and Operations teams to identify pain points and drive process automation and efficiency
- Strong analytical skills with experience using data to inform decisions, track financial performance, and improve product outcomes
- Prior experience in accounting or finance roles
- Proven ability to write strong epics
- Strong executive-level project presentation skills
- Ability to quickly understand product functionality
- Comfortable working with multiple in-house and remote teams
- Sincere empathy for customers and commitment to understanding their challenges
- Comfortable making decisions with some level of uncertainty
- Keen attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-changing environment
- Valid driver license with proof of insurance
- Ability to lift up to fifteen (15) pounds
