About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Join Zurich’s Rural Community Insurance Services (RCIS) team, a leading crop insurance provider in the U.S.
- Exercise judgment to determine liability by gathering and analyzing relevant facts and using applicable procedures
- Determine policy verification and coverage by analyzing applicable claim coverage and deciding whether losses are covered
- Participate in Risk Management Agency-initiated reviews and referrals for operational integrity and quality assurance
- Protect Zurich’s reputation by keeping claims information confidential
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through educational opportunities, industry trends, personal networks, and professional societies
- Travel within the assigned territory and outside it as needed to assist with workloads, participate on CAT teams, and provide remote claims assistance
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more months of experience in the agricultural area for Crop Claims Field Adjuster I
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4 or more years of experience in the agricultural or crop insurance industry for Crop Claims Specialist
- Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program Certification (CAPP) must be obtained within 180 days of hire
- Reliable personal transportation and travel within territory
- Personal transportation and travel within assigned territory and outside the assigned area to assist with workloads, participate on CAT team, and/or provide remote assistance for CROP Claims Care Center calls and/or CCP Claims
- Walk in agricultural fields up to 3 miles
- Climb agricultural storage bins up to 25 feet
- Lift 25 lbs to 50 lbs
- Work outdoors in varying temperatures/weather conditions
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Strong organization, multi-tasking and prioritization skills
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- Must live within 50 miles of Bottineau, Rolette, Pierce, Benson, McHenry, or Ramsey counties in North Dakota
