Key responsibilities & impact- Manage the firmware roadmap for five RFID reader platforms
- Negotiate with suppliers, partners, and competitors regarding credential technologies
- Lead integration of credential technologies in HID OMNIKEY platforms
- Collaborate with product managers responsible for finished products and support firmware tasks
- Drive reuse and economies of scale for code, implementations, technologies, and platforms
- Use data-driven methods to prioritize and plan requirements
- Monitor markets, competition, and relevant trends through research, customer and partner visits, and trade shows
- Prioritize Epics and Features using SAFe® processes with Product Owners, Engineering Team Leaders, and Business Owners
- Collaborate with Product Owners to gain acceptance of stories for priority features
- Update roadmaps based on LPM and PI Planning processes
- Align product-management strategies across the Reader Business Unit and drive technology reuse
- Participate in business-line, cross-business-unit, and ASSA ABLOY group alignment meetings
- Educate product management, support, and sales teams on new functions and features
- Ensure proper firmware-release documentation
- Establish and maintain executive-level relationships with strategic customers and key accounts
- Support Sales with specifications, customer recommendations, white papers, customer visits, and competition analysis
- Ensure regulatory compliance and prioritize product risks, including FCC, CE, ISO, CRA, cybersecurity, and intellectual property requirements
- Represent the company in professional associations and industry events
- Define strategic vision and comprehensive firmware roadmap across multiple platforms and product families
- Identify emerging technology trends and drive platform reuse across HID IDT and PACS portfolios
- Develop product-management strategies with IDT business leaders, global engineering teams, and regional organizations
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years’ experience as a product manager or product owner delivering and deploying software, firmware, hardware products and/or solutions to factory
- Experience with firmware and embedded software, as a product manager or engineer
- Ability to lead R&D professionals through the product development and introduction cycle
- Ability to understand complex technical situations, independently gather missing information, and divide problems into subtasks
- Good interpersonal communication skills, team spirit, and adaptability
- Ability to communicate with customers and build relationships
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a cohesive team
- Familiarity with RFID technology and access control and authentication is advantageous
- Knowledge of smart card readers, embedded systems, cryptography, and security practices
- Knowledge and experience in agile methodologies including Scrum, SAFe®, Kanban, Lean, and DevOps
- SAFe® Product Owner/Product Manager (SAFe® PMPO) certificate is advantageous
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering with a background in software and/or firmware, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience
- Fluent English communication skills, verbally and in writing
- Must be currently and legally authorized to reside and work in Germany
- Immigration sponsorship is not available
