About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide specialized technical support to customers using existing Cabot products
  • Lead coordination of cross-functional technical services for specified Cabot accounts across multiple global market segments
  • Devise strategies and lead internal preparation for customer engagements addressing technical problems involving Cabot inkjet dispersion products
  • Visit key customers, normally within Europe, to explain product use and resolve application issues
  • Act as a technical resource to Sales and provide training and customer guidance
  • Gather customer requirements for new products with Sales
  • Translate customer product and functionality needs and validate application performance data
  • Identify and resolve product problems through quality complaint investigations and collaboration with Quality, Manufacturing, R&D, and Sales
  • Escalate major problems for management input and resolution assistance
  • Engage customers to identify additional technical value and support future product innovation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Material Science or Engineering
  • 8+ years related experience
  • Prior project or program management experience
  • Leadership and management skills
  • Ability to influence and motivate others, including customers
  • Consulting skills
  • Proactive, collaborative attitude and teamwork
  • Ability to overcome barriers and manage cross-functional conflicts
  • Ability to provide coaching and training
  • Ability and willingness to plan and organize the work of others
  • Ability to manage a technical service ticket system involving cross-functional tasks
  • Ability to lead planning and preparation meetings for complex customer technical engagements
  • Chemical industry experience preferred, ideally in inkjet inks, dispersions, or inkjet system application engineering
  • Broad technical competence and knowledge of Cabot products, applications, raw materials, and platform technologies
  • Strong customer orientation and presence
  • Communication and consulting skills
  • Ability to speak convincingly, make formal presentations, lead meetings, and facilitate discussions
  • Experience working with customers on delicate technical topics involving commercial considerations
