About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage the operations team for the Derivatives and South Utilities area at the Channelview Manufacturing Complex
- Report to the CVO I&D Site Operations Manager
- Manage 10 direct reports and approximately 90 total employees
- Manage South Utilities, RTBE, BDO, Derivatives units, and PolyOls production unit
- Ensure safe, efficient, reliable, and cost-effective performance of assets and people
- Serve as a member of the site extended leadership team
- Inspire, coach, and develop staff; ensure appropriate staffing and accountability
- Foster teamwork, collaboration, and effective working relationships
- Deliver GoalZERO HSE performance through leadership, employee and contractor involvement, and management systems
- Implement and ensure adherence to corporate standards
- Apply technical knowledge of products, services, and production and distribution processes
- Translate company strategies into objectives and action plans focused on operational excellence
- Develop and manage the area budget
- Recommend capital projects supporting company goals
- Manage performance and professional development of supervisory and support personnel
- Develop and monitor area KPIs and plans to meet or exceed them
- Ensure the Code of Conduct and company policies are consistently and fairly administered
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree with 8 years’ experience in progressively more responsible positions in petrochemical or refining process operations
- In lieu of a degree, 12 years’ relevant experience in progressively more responsible positions
- Knowledge of and experience with HSE, operating, maintenance, and engineering processes and procedures
- Knowledge of business fundamentals and shared services roles in manufacturing
- Demonstrated leadership ability in a formal leadership role
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to interface with all organizational levels within the company
- Technical or operational background
- Good computer skills
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old
