Key responsibilities & impact- Update, maintain, and publish PMO documentation for IT project managers and ITD staff
- Manage SharePoint Online document libraries for accuracy, accessibility, and governance
- Develop, coordinate, and deliver in-person and virtual training
- Create training materials and user documentation
- Serve as risk manager for Commonwealth-level IT projects
- Provide guidance on risk identification, mitigation planning, and escalation
- Support recurring reporting using Excel and Power BI
- Ensure reporting data accuracy and provide meaningful insights
- Oversee and guide projects in the Planning phase
- Ensure execution-phase projects follow governance structures, meeting cadence, reporting, metrics tracking, risk and issue management, and quality assurance
- Review project plans for tasks, schedules, risks, resources, checkpoints, and status reporting
- Collaborate with project teams to address planning and governance gaps
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 10 years of experience
- 15 years of overall IT experience recommended
- Technology infrastructure experience preferred; application development experience is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Visio, Excel, and other MS Office tools
- Training and documentation experience
- PMP or ACP certification through PMI, or qualification under Commonwealth of Virginia Qualification Standards for IT Project Managers
- Experience with VITA’s Commonwealth Technology Portfolio (CTP) system and ECOS process strongly preferred
- Experience with Commonwealth IT procurement processes, including RFP, VITA Statewide Contract, and CAI SOW, preferred
- Prior VDOT PM experience is a benefit
- 10 years of large project management experience
- 5 years of documentation creation experience
- 10 years of project management tools experience
- 5 years of training experience
- 3 years of SharePoint document management, indexing, and organization experience
- 8 years of IT risk management experience as a risk manager
- 1 year of VITA CTP experience highly desired
- 10 years of proposal development/business writing experience highly desired
- 8 years of PMP, ACP, or Commonwealth qualification experience highly desired
