About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate all medical care and test referrals for the site
- Schedule patient referrals to specialty, hospital, and ancillary providers requested by medical providers
- Coordinate appointments
- Ensure patient medical and demographic information is received by specialty/outside providers
- Notify patients of appointments and special testing requirements
- Track patient compliance with referral appointments
- Work Monday through Friday on an 8-hour day shift, with no weekends or holidays
- Complete a 90-day training period before transitioning to hybrid work
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of one year working experience in an outpatient physician clinic
- Strong analytical and computer skills required
- Interpersonal skills necessary to work with physicians, patients, and staff
- Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks
- AA or BA preferred
- Experience working with the referral/authorization process preferred
- Knowledge of electronic medical records preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Knowledge of managed care preauthorization procedures preferred
- General insurance knowledge preferred
