About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver innovative design projects to diverse clients through all phases
- Lead internal and external teams
- Manage project budgets and workplans
- Oversee development of contract documents
- Serve as the primary client contact
- Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate project phases from conceptual design through construction services
- Prepare project schedules
- Discuss project health administratively and technically with the operations leader
- Escalate changing project conditions to office leadership
- Maintain and update project planners for weekly staffing meetings
- Issue and obtain approval for additional services before starting additional scope
- Utilize company resource groups to prepare design and construction documents
- Provide construction services, including site visits and shop drawing reviews
- Coordinate with the contracts team for project contract execution
- Represent Ware Malcomb at public design review, development approval meetings, and project presentations
- Assemble and manage consultant teams, including scope, fees, selection, and contracts
- Assist the studio leader and mentor junior project members
- Assist with proposals and consultant team reviews
- Coordinate with accounting on accounts receivable, consultant payables, and invoicing
- Coordinate project consultants through all project phases
- Coordinate quality-control and peer reviews of contract documents before issuance
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years of experience managing ground up commercial architecture projects
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, or related field
- Licensed Architect or in the licensure process preferred
- AutoCAD and Revit skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and Newforma
- Thorough knowledge of building codes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to coordinate a complete set of contract documents
