About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Take inbound calls from individuals needing support, services, or who may be in crisis
- Perform safety screenings and assessments to determine the presence and acuity of risk to the individual or others
- Use caller information and screening results to understand needs and develop a plan of action with the individual
- Complete timely and accurate documentation of interactions according to established criteria
- Provide linkage follow-up to ensure individuals access services
- Coordinate with agencies, organizations, individuals, resources, services, and natural support systems
- Screen, assess, train, and provide telephonic intervention/de-escalation for helpline callers using established protocols
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and other applicable regulations
Requirements
What you’ll need- HS diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 1 year of experience in behavioral health, or a minimum of 6 months of direct crisis experience including screenings and assessments to determine appropriate interventions, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- BS/BA degree in a mental health or other human services field and two years of experience working directly with individuals in need of behavioral health services strongly preferred
- Call Center experience preferred
- Crisis experience preferred
- Ability to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to complete Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm PST training for 4 weeks
- Compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and other federal, state, and local regulations
- Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance from a posting location unless accommodation is granted
